Alexandria Notes.

Capt. William Laycock, a well-known riverman, died in Providence Hospital
in Washington this morning, after a long illness. He was over seventy years
old. For many years he commanded a number of river craft and at the time of
his death was Captain of the schooner Father and Son. The remains will be
brought here for interment.
