Edward McClynton "Mr. Ed" Inscoe, 84, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2003, at Mary Washington Hospital, from complications of a stroke.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Elinor "T"; and five children, Ellen Marshall, Ann Tate, Bonnie Neal, Vicki Tate and Alvin W. Tate; three nieces, Mildred Rollins and Melissa Rollins of King George and Arlene Lilly of Maryland; four nephews, Eddie Winfield of Maryland, Robert Tate of Maryland, Alan Tate of North Carolina and Rodney Rollins of King George; and 15 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mr. Inscoe was a veteran of the U.S. Army providing five years of military service during World War II. He retired after 28 years of civil service from the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division.
The family will receive friends at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, Colonial Beach, from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, at Grace United Methodist Church on Claymont Road in Rollins Fork, with the Rev. Karen Petersen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Colonial Beach Rescue Squad, 225 Dennison St., Colonial Beach, Va. 22443; or to Grace United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, Box 608, Colonial Beach, Va. 22443.
