In the name of God, Amen, I Elizabeth Pemberton of King George County and state of Virginia being of sound mind and disposing memory for which I thank God, and calling to mind the uncertainty of human life, and being desirous to despose of such worldly goods as is has pleased God to bless me with, I bestow it in manner and form as follows, to wit.

First, I direct that all my debts and funeral expenses be paid, Also I direct that all my household and kitchen furniture farming implements and stock be sold at public auction except what is herein after named

I hereby given and bequeath to granddaughters Elizabeth, Sophia, and Martha Pemberton one (? Springless) beds and furniture a piece. I also direct that my servant ann be given to the above named Elizabeth Pemberton I also direct that the balance of my slaves, Letty and Celia be sold with any future interest that I may have in the other slaves now subject to me, to ust? (rest?) Anthony, Judy, and Eliza and the proceeds of the sale be equally divided with any other personal estate of mine between my grandchildren Sophia, Martha, William, Andrew and my great grandson Philip Pemberton.

I do hereby make and order Hugh H Tennent executor of this my last Will and Testament

In the King Goerge County Court May 3 1855

The foregoing Last Will and Testament of Elizabeth Pemberton dec?d was this day produced in Court proved by the oaths of James Arnold and Hugh M Tennent the two subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded. And on the motion of Hugh M Tennent he executor named in the said Will who made oath and together with James Arnold his security they enetered into and acknowledge a bond in the penalty of $1500.00 which said Bond being and binded as the law directs was acknowledged by the obligor and ordered to be recorded, where assign? a certificate was granted the said Hugh M Tennent for obtaining a ???? of the said Will indict form.
