Brickwall Info: Can anyone identify the parents of Garrett or Esther Graham who came to Butler County around 1810? They lived for a short time in Chester County, SC, where they sold land to Paul Ferguson, Jr. When Garrett and Esther moved to the Butler/Warren counties area, they settled near Paul Ferguson, Sr. so there may have been some relationship. They were the parents of James and John Graham and Jane, Mary Catherine, Esther, Ann and Elizabeth Graham. Garrett died in 1815 and Esther died in 1869. Both listed NC as their birthplaces.

Brickwall Info: My brick wall is my maternal grandmother, Geneva (Neva) Porter. According to all of her docu- mentation she was born July 4, 1872 in KY; but, nowhere is there mention of the town. She died in 1926, 20 years before I was born, in Cincinnati Ohio. She married Benjamin Whittaker in Charleston West VA in 1890; and, they had 8 children, 6 of which lived: Eva b. 1900, John and Lawrence (twins) b. 1904, Ethel b. 1909, and May Ada (my mom) and Mary Ida (twins b. 1912. Benjamin Whittaker died in 1924 in Cincinnati Ohio. There are none left alive to ask anything of. I paid someone at the KHS to search all of KY for the birth record; but it turns out that during that time period, birth records were either sporadic or non- existent. All documentation states that Neva's father and mother were John and Mary Porter.

Brickwall Info: In my research I'm trying to find my great grandmother, her name was Mary Jane Holman b abt 1861 in Tennessee, she married Solomon Jackson Carroll on May 09, 1877, in Butler Co., Ky. She was the daughter of Alexander S Holman and Nancy A. ? I found were her daughter Nancy A "Carroll" Carter was buried and her father. I also found that my great grandfather Solomon remarried to Magaret Bingham on January 25, 1890. My granfather Walter was born 1884, but was not found living with Solomon in 1900 census, but with a cousin Alford Carroll. The 1894 Butler Co school records shows Walter and Nancy as wards of A H Holman. Nancy married on February 03, 1898 and died on July 07, 1898. No record of Mary after my grandfathers birth in 1884, she may have died in childbirth. I can not find a death date or the cemetery were she is buried. That is what I would like to know were she is buried. In the last 10 years of research trying to find what happened to her I have found that my family tree connects with just about everyone in Butler Co.

Brickwall Info: Looking for more information on the family of Rebecca M. Hudson, Amelia Hudson and Susannah Hudson. Rebecca married Francis Shrode in Butler Co.in 1816, Amelia married Henry Deweese in 1816 and a Susannah Hudson married William Williams in 1817. Susannah may have been the mother of the two girls as their marriage bonds were signed by her. Some say that Isaac Hudson is the father, but that has not been proven. Others say William Hudson is the father; he may have died on the way from North Carolina as both girls were born in NC. Or, he may have died in KY. Does anyone have any information regarding this family? I believe that there were other children in addition to Rebecca and Amelia. Thank you for any assistance. Mary Ann Horn
