Turner Cardwell Cemetery

The Turner Cardwell Cemetery is in Butler County, KY.  From Morgantown take 231 N to Hwy. 70 E.  Take Hwy. 70 (towards Edmondson Co.) till you see Green Valley Chapel on the left.  To the right (across from the chapel) you'll see Big Jim Phelps Rd.  Take it until you come to Hwy. 1328.  Turn right.  Soon you'll come to a field where you'll see a modular home and two roads.  (The road on the left and farther from the home is Elvis Phelps Rd.)  Turn right onto the road that goes beside the home.  Take this road past the home, past Clark Cemetery (which is on the right) and on out till the road dead ends at a house.  In front of the house is the Turner Cardwell Cemetery.

Martin Turner Cardwell was the son of Robert and Nancy Jane Moore Cardwell. Winnie Ann Phelps was the daughter of Amos and Nancy Johnson Phelps. Martin and Winnie married 22 September 1872 in Butler County, Kentucky. They had ten children, at least two of which are buried in the Turner Cardwell Cemetery.
Viola Cardwell, daughter of Martin Turner and Winnie Ann Phelps Cardwell.

Nancy Jane Adkins was the daughter of Martin Turner and Winnie Ann Phelps Cardwell.  She married John Henry Adkins son of Samuel and Mary Phelps Adkins.

These two tombstones are also at the Turner Cardwell Cemetery. I assume that the Adkins is a son of John H. and Nancy J. Adkins, but I am unsure on that subject. Any information on these individuals would be greatly appreciated. There are at least 5 graves marked by sandstone. They are believed to be relatives of Martin Turner Cardwell. If you have any information on these individuals, please email me at J. P. Johnson
